Irvin F. & Alice S. Etscorn Foundation Helps Camp

The Etscorn Foundation has designated a gift of $5,000.00 in early December for the purchase of a gas water heater and a pump for the pool. The water heater will service the girls rest rooms.
We truly appreciate their ongoing support of our mission and services. They really help us make a difference!

Camp Improvements

During the off season we do work that is not possible to do during the summer when camp is in session.  Since the fall of 2007, we painted and installed new tile in 5 boys dorm rooms and 1 girls dorm room.  We also painted 5 girls rooms and as soon as weather permits, will new tile will be installed there too.
The wonderful donation of tile was made by Ron Kress - KV Flooring of Louisville.   We also plan to install new floor tile in the cafeteria - we have a grant out for the labor for this project and are hopeful it will be approved.

There are plans in place to also do some upgrading of some of the rest rooms in the dorm area before camp.

Cub Cadet Drawing

The drawing for the 4 X 4 Cub Cadet was held during the board meeting on Dec. 16, 2007.  The guest speaker, John Spainhour an Attorney from Shepherdsville had the honor of drawing the winning ticket.
The winner of the Cadet was Donnie A. Flannery, who purchased 10 tickets.
The Jeffersontown Lions Club sold the most tickets and therefore won $500.00.
Donald W. Flannery sold the most tickets by an individual and also won $500.00 which he donated back to camp.
We thank all the clubs and people that helped make this drawing such a success.

Printer & Copier Cartridges and... Cell Phones - Recycling Program Participants

We thank everyone for their support and efforts in our recycling program - this reduces the impact to landfills and helps camp too!  That's a WIN-WIN!

Everyone can help with this project. Any person, even if you are out of state or any club that wants to help can be set up to ship direct (postage paid). Funding Factory will even provide the collection boxes you need, the shipping boxes with shipping labels at no cost to you.  If you want more information, contact Kevin Patton or Billie Flannery.
