Vacation (2 Trips) Raffle Status

2500 tickets were printed and about 950 tickets have been given out.  A $200 debit card is going to be given to each winner of the two trips.  One trip is to a Branson Missouri resort and the other is to a Delray Beach resort. Both trips are for two-bedroom resort units.
The drawing will be on June 24, 2011, with two Camp Freedom campers pulling the winning tickets.
If you don't have your $10 ticket yet, call camp on 1-888-879-8884 to order.  Tickets will also be available at the State Convention.

Casino Trip for Camp

The Horseshoe Casino trip took place on March 19 and went extremely well for the North Hardin Lions Club. They raised $660.00 for camp. They had 44 people make the trip and they plan to do it again. The folks on the bus wanted to know when they could do it again.  They had a great time.  We thank the North Hardin Lions!

DuPont Manual Students - Held Work Project At Camp

The students picked two work days for their project.  The first group of 5 girls came on Sat. April 9th - they put sealer/stain on the boat dock.  The weather didn't cooperate fully with them and when rain began, they organized/cleaned the

Camp Heart to Heart storage room.  The girls did a great job.  Camp provided Pizza and soft drinks for lunch.
The volunteer girls were: Kaitlin Mans, Hailee Bowling, Nadia Almasalhhi, Kristen Trayler and Amari Dryden. They also donated some putters.
The second group of students came on April 30th - eleven students came in the morning along with a couple Mothers.   Lion Daniel Coe, Kevin Patton and Bryan Estes helped coordinate the work plan - they put sealer/stain on three bridges and all the field stands; and they did some organizing of tile in the barn.
Lion Steve Baker picked up Pizza and soft drinks for the work group.
This group of students were: Kaitlin Mans, Kristen Traylor, Ayrin Cooke, Lauren Marberry, Ben Flanigan, Michael Puffer, Nadia Almasalkhi, Alee Campbell, Hailee Bowling, Kyle Abell, and Hayleigh Gittli.
We sincerely thank the Dupont Manual students for selecting our camp for their work project. They did a great job!

Lion Gilbert Ruiz Being Deployed

Lion Gilbert Ruiz is a North Hardin Lions member.  He is being deployed right away.  He has however, been very active in Lions Service.  He helped supervise the Leo Conference the weekend of May 13 and enjoyed being at camp.  He wanted to help further before being deployed.
He worked Monday through Saturday the following week and again the next Monday.  He is a buzz saw - some of the things he did was to trim some shrubs, did weed eating around the sewer plant/ lagoon, up around the front gate; helped with the pool filter setup; fixed the wood panels on the pool wall, painted the metal railings at the office building; painted parking lot stripes; mopped the cafeteria (after it was stripped).
We truly appreciate all he did to help get camp ready!  We hope his stint "where ever" is short and that he is home real soon!

Kroger Gift Card Program

We hope the Kroger Gift Card Program will grow over time.  Camp will receive 4% from the card activity.  We initially took 100 cards and have already signed out all but 2 cards.  We have ordered 50 more.  If you live near a Krogers or even currently shop at Krogers, purchase a $5 card (it has $5 on it) and begin shopping at Krogers. All purchases apply except for services - such as money orders and lottery tickets.  Please note that the cards is good for GAS too.  Let us know how many cards to send you.  Thanks.

Burn the Mortgage Project (Dime-A-Day or Quarter-A-Day Cans)

As of May 5, 2011 we had received $3,087.95 already. While many collection cans are out to a number of Lions and others, we still have 1 case of cans left to disburse.  Let us know who wants some.  We believe this is a Lions project that almost anyone can help with.  A dime a day is only 70 cents a week - this is less than a soft drink.  A quarter a day is $1.75 a day - this would be less than most hamburgers and many other things.
Can you help?

If you haven't looked at the web site, take a few minutes and look it over.  We welcome your questions and any suggestions that you may have for improvement.
