Camp Mission
To provide a memorable camping experience for these children in a safe and secure environment
while providing a week of respite for the care givers.

Camp Goal
To provide a camp experience that will last a lifetime and to provide activities to help the children build confidence, learn about teamwork, anger management, and trusting/sharing with others.

History & Organization:
Camp Freedom was formed in 2006 by Lions Camp Crescendo and Kentucky Foster Care A
gencies.  The camp is made possible with foundation grants and donations from individuals, clubs, and companies.

Camp Freedom is a collaboration between Lions Camp Crescendo, Inc. and Kentucky Foster Care Agencies.

Camper Eligibility:
Camp Freedom is open to children (ages 6 – 11) with mild to moderate behavioral, emotional, and physical needs who are in foster care or are in the custody of their grandparents.

Attendance restrictions for the 2008 camp is limited to 100 campers.  The campers must reside in the following Kentucky counties;  Anderson, Breckinridge, Bullitt, Franklin, Grayson, Hardin, Hart, Henry, Jefferson, Larue, Marion, Meade, Nelson, Oldham, Pendleton, Shelby, Spencer, Trimble, Washington, & Woodford.

Camp Freedom SwimmingCost to Attend:
It's FREE.  All campers attend Camp Freedom free of charge.

Counselors:
Our counselors are volunteers who have acceptable background checks.  The camper to counselor ratio is approximately 3 to 1, or as needed.

Arrival & Departure:
Campers
arrive at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, July 7.

Counselors/Staff arrive at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 6 for Orientation

Foster Parents/Grandparents are invited to attend an awards program at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, July 11.

Camp Freedom is made possible by donations from individuals, clubs, corporations, and foundations.
